"The lotus flowers and lanceolate leafs which can be found so often on the Persian rug's image are powerful symbols of power and rebirth with a high significance in Persian Persian rugs designs. The Persian rug features an ivory background on top of which the above mentioned ornaments are properly shaped and more visible. The Persian rug's layout is medallion containing a beautifully colored rosette in the center. It features shades of dark red, brown and green. The Persian rug's borders feature a pattern of Shah-Abassi motifs with its characteristic lotus flowers and lanceolate leafs."

Tabriz Rugs
The rugs manufactured in the city of Tabriz also are of great finesse. Their predominant colors are red, blue and ivory. They offer strong contrasts in the rug’s image but also inspire serenity and beauty. Most are hand-knotted on a soft cotton foundation using a combination of wool and silk. Some of them show the common floral designed central medallion. Featuring different sizes and a perfect symmetry these rugs prove the skills of those who worked to manufacture them.
