"The general image of this Persian rug features a particular formalism thanks to its navy background. The Persian rug's design is medallion and the colors that were used are different shades of brown, darker for the outlines. We can see that the floral motifs are not so lively and naturally colored as for other Persian rugs. The above mentioned floral motifs are colored using a single shade only their outlines being brighter for better visibility reasons. The pomegranate, lotus and peony flowers are colored with dark red and outlined with white. The Persian rug's border is also navy while the floral decorations from here are only outlined with white. Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
