This Persian rug has a high floral load and a very pleasant and varied coloration. Its medallion design perfectly fits the entire image. Lanceolate leafs appear around the medallion colored with shades like ivory and green and are outlined with an extraordinary accuracy. The main border is black and inside it we can see the natural outlining of the Shah-Abbasi motif. The inner and outer borders are slightly lighter featuring a predominant shade of gray. The Persian rug has a very good quality because it is hand-knotted using natural wool on a silk foundation.
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
