"At the first glance we notice the loaded image that is provided by this Persian rug. The navy color background is lit by the flowers bright outlines. The medallion design is matching the main border by alternating gray and brown background color. Brown is the color of fertility and is very important in the Persian rug's color scheme. The brown main border is crossed completely by Shah-Abbasi motifs colored in green, with ivory outlines and navy inserts from place to place. The design details show the great skills and effort consumed for hand-knotting this Persian rug."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
