"The most interesting and easily noticeable thing about this Persian rug is its borders which occupy a quite significant space. The main border is colored with a very dark shade of beige which makes it even more highlighted and noticeable within the Persian rug image. The field background is ivory, a bright and relaxing color over which the pomegranate flowers and leaves ornaments are painted with deep, bold colors. The inner and outer borders are doubled and colored using navy and blue. In the center of the medallionÆs design we meet shades of blue and beige while the outlines are colored in red. On the outside the medallion has a navy background over which pomegranate flowers are applied."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
