This is a great example of an allover layout Persian rug. Three background colors are used in order to create a special effect. Firstly the light blue inner and outer borders are used to draw attention toward the lighter ivory of the main border. Secondly the contrast between the lighter main border and the navy based field generates the illusion of depth. Therefore these powerful contrasts are creating a more dramatic scene. The Mina-Khani motifs generate the idea of order through their symmetrical placement within the Persian rug's field. Their combination with Shah Abassi graphics for the main border helps in unifying the whole piece. 5390-J9
Nain Rugs
The rugs produced in the region of Nain are also very popular. They feature a specific design with an ivory or blue background. The central medallion colors matches the background but also the motifs used inside the rug. Older rugs from this region are very difficult to find but the quality is exceptional, as has always been in this region.
