"This Persian rug's design is medallion. Two background colors can be observed; red for the field and black for the main border. The inner and outer borders are doubled. They are brighter than the main border, one having a brown color and the other one being white. The medallion in the center is surrounded by bright colors that highlight the great skills of the designers. The inner corners of the Persian rug are light green followed by a very light blue, which enlightens the general picture. The floral decorations of the main border are called Shah Abbasi motifs."

Tabriz Rugs
The rugs manufactured in the city of Tabriz also are of great finesse. Their predominant colors are red, blue and ivory. They offer strong contrasts in the rug’s image but also inspire serenity and beauty. Most are hand-knotted on a soft cotton foundation using a combination of wool and silk. Some of them show the common floral designed central medallion. Featuring different sizes and a perfect symmetry these rugs prove the skills of those who worked to manufacture them.
