"The general image of this large size Persian rug is particularly natural and features a joyful and dynamic color scheme. The ivory field's background contrasts beautifully with the red main border. The other two borders are doubled and have bright colors also met in the center of the Persian rug. The design is medallion, an often met design for Isfahan style Persian rugs. The field corners surrounding the center are colored in darker shades. We can see the bold colors used for the leaves ornaments like red, blue or green."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
