SIL225 4X6 FINE PERSIAN ISFAHAN RUG

"This fully-colored carpet is very nice in terms of image that it offers. It is an allover design but nothing special draws our attention to the center of the carpet or elsewhere. Floral motifs used are very common in Persian carpets workmanship. In the middle of the picture we have a Mina-Khani drawing. The motif is composed of several flowers that repeat, connected by a diamond and often curved. This motif is not necessarily representative for Isfahan city Persian rugs where the carpet originates but it can also be seen in other cities. The background is light ivory and it combines naturally with the color shades of the flowers and levees that are applied to the overall pattern of the carpet."

Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
