This carpet radiates a feeling of serenity because it is worked on a ivory background. The workmanship is very fine and full of remarkable beauty. The overall picture is quite crowed and the colors used are vivid. The contrast between the red middle edge of the carpet and the ivory background is very strong and it is seen quite often in the carpets worked in the city of Isfahan. The medallion design of this Persian rug is tinted in colors like red and gray with navy and green contours that surrounds the rosette in an exceptional way. Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves.
